Samsung has recently changed the name of their Series 7 line to the Ativ line. The Ativ Book 8 is the next version of the Series 7 Chronos, bringing a touch panel to a heavy hitting Ultrabook style machine.

I bought a Sony Flip 14a and loved the look of the machine and many features including the "flipping" the lid does that allows one to use it like a tablet. However, there was a problem with the fan being so loud and running constantly it made me nervous that there might be issues with it down the road.The Ativ 8 is an awesome machine! It can play my games on Steam plus it has 1T hard drive! Plenty of room for the things I like to do! I couldn't get the Sony to play my games on steam plus it only had a 128g hd. The Sony also made a heavy clicking noise that I could also feel when I transformed it or rotated it from one position to another.

as a fellow owner of this laptop id have to agree. Really gives you that wow factor when taking it around. One gripe i have is the weird look of the screen when looking at white pages.
I agree, BEST LAPTOP EVER. worth every penny! The speakers are amazing, the screen is great, track pad is seamless and beautiful and I don't mind the extra weight, its sturdy and built with quality. If you guys are looking for an amazing laptop this is the one!

almost certainly not. windows 8 boots up very quickly, regardless of whether or not it has an SSD. It probably takes less than 15 seconds too boot.

I got the version with the 8870m, I can review it a little if you want, but it's better than the 8770m so lower your expectations 😛
